CREATING COLLECTIONS

We can create collections using images, PDFs or video. Select the content collections tab in the main portal of your application and you can either edit an existing collection or you can click add collection and create a new one. In this case, will create a new one. We'll give it a new name.

We can create collections using images, PDFs or video. Select the content collections tab in the main portal of your application and you can either edit an existing collection or you can click add collection and create a new one. In this case, will create a new one. We'll give it a new name.

We'll type, a new collection test and we'll hit add collection item.

This adds the first bit of content that you can put inside of a collection or add slides,

And from here you can either search for existing media that exists in your asset library or upload new files.

We'll search for a file that already exists in our asset library. And once we've found it, we select it. And you can either double click or click select and it's added to that collection item.

Then from there we can click add slides. If you want to have more content behind what you've just added and continue to add more pieces of content, you can also select multiple pieces by clicking the first holding down shift and selecting the last, and then we'll add two at a time. You can also rearrange by dragging and dropping inside the actual builder and make sure and click save when you're finished or when you've changed a few things and you want it to be saved in the builder.

Now let's clear out those assets and we'll click add slides again, and I'll show you quickly how easy it is to add an MP for a video file to the builder as well. So we've selected our MP for this is kind of a larger size and almost 22 megabytes. The builder does have a constraint of 60 megabytes for the maximum size.

You can add a video to the app, keep that in mind and then it's added to the asset library will simply double click it and it's added to the collection. We can add some images behind it.

Now we'll clear out the content again. We'll click add slides and we'll upload a PDF or choose files and we'll select the PDF we want to add. It'll take a moment to process and compile all the pages, typically the maximum page numbers of PDFs that can be uploaded as 50.

So 50 pages or less for a PDF can be uploaded to the builder.

You can select specific pages and reorder them over here on the right hand side if you want. If you don't want to use the entire PDF or we can use the select all feature, I'll click the trashcan here to proceed, create a new one and just hit select all. And as you can see, it grabs all the pages inside that PDF and now it's going to create a PDF to be used.

I give it a title and hit proceed and it gets added to the asset library. At this point I can select it and it's added.

Now we'll show you how to use multiple content collections.

I'll click add collection item. It'll add a second collection item. I'll do it again. And a third collection item. Now, these items, as you'll see in a moment, can be added to one collection, but give the user a way to jump around and have non-linear navigation to get to any content that's important to the viewer.

So I'll add a thumbnail that will show up in the bottom. Again, this is purely for demo purposes. I'm just grabbing thumbnails that currently exist in the asset library and grabbing content here. And as you can see, I've created a multiple content collection that can be added to the application.

So if we're happy with this collection, we'll click Save, Let It process, and then we'll go back in the Builder one page and go to the scenes and menu section for demonstrated purposes. I'm going to select the P series menu and connect this collection here, so I'll hit edit go into the P series product menu and you can attach these collections to sliders to image buttons, other navigation items that have this action tag next to them.

So this first slider all select action, and it's this one here optimized for regional transport. I'll select open a collection, then it will give me a list of all my existing collections. The one we just created was the new collection test. I'll select that now. I will go up and save this menu, then click publish and it will publish to myself on my device.

Then I can install the update on my device and test if the collection works as I hoped.

So on my tablet, I'm going to launch my app. And as you can see in the top right corner, there's a red beacon indicating there is an update. I had install app update and install it and I'll go back to my app.

And as we know, we attach the collection under the trucks P series, solar products, P series. And the first item in the slider here will touch it. And we had the PDF as the first item and on the thumbnail bar at the bottom we can touch another thumbnail and it will immediately jump to that new content and you can jump around in a non-linear fashion.

Everything looks great, so we'll go back to the builder and roll out for all of our other users.
